Whoa...rollerskating!

Here's a link to some pretty cool footage of the Moonlight Rollerway, where we had a good time skating (and falling) with our neighbor and her friend.

I think I'm becoming more familiar with the four noble truths...still don't know a whole bunch about Hinduism, though.

Learning to knit! I have casting on and the knit stitch down...still need to learn purling and adding stitches, but I'm surprised at how easy the first parts are.

I still have vivid memories of our teacher trying to teach the class to knit in 7th grade. As the generally-disliked, gawky artist girl in the class, I COULD NOT DO THAT SHIT, but the popular, cute artist girl who was also in our class could. And then she'd make a big deal out of how terrible it was. I have to admit, it was pretty fuckin' impressive at the time. If only I'd had the mad knit-stitch skills back then. IF ONLY.

Anyway, I'm makin a scarf. I think some gloves are in order next. Woo!

This summer, some 99 cent store seeds yielded me...

1. Some spinach early in the year
2. A few tomatoes
3. A few zucchini and squash
4. Several green beans, but always in clumps of 3 or 4
5. A big-ass pile of yukon gold potatoes
6. Some romaine lettuce

I say SUCCESS, MOFO! Come October, we're going for it again with heirloom leeks, beets, peas, broccoli, and more potatoes.

Don't know how I missed this one. Got it on Craigslist for $40 from a Very Gay Man. Works perfectly! I've made a lot of curtains so far and it's saved me quite a bit of money. I think either a quilt or another dress is next on the projects list.

I think I can officially add this one to the list, since it's been three weeks since I've used either the yoga block or the strap! Also, I'm finding that I almost always gravitate towards harder variations on poses, and I usually won't do the beginner version unless I'm really stiff. And what's great is that the harder poses, which used to almost kill me, are now more fun than anything else!

(And I'm virtually positive going to a chiropractor has helped me become more flexible, so thank you, chiropractic goodness! :)

Okay, it wasn't exactly Vegas, but it was New York, and it was with girlfriends, and it was kick ass! We hung out in Manhattan, and spent the weekend dancing, and seeing drag shows, and regular shows, and taking thousands of pictures. Good times.

Interesting stuff! Makes me want to travel to Tibet and Nepal...esp since all the regions he goes through are so wildly different.

Right now I'm watching "Full Circle," which is also wanderlust-inducing.

Took the 'historic core' tour of downtown. Saw some amaaazing buildings....I would have loved to check out the abandoned underground subway station too, but unfortunately they don't let anyone down there now. There is some kickass architecture hiding out in downtown, but you really have to dig to find it. Awesome, awesome stuff. Scott and I want to do the theatre tour next time. (And maybe Spring Street after that!)
